Pick of the Day!

Today's pick goes out to all those beautiful brides! We have a tremendous selection of original wedding dresses, perfect for any type of bride-to-be; whether you are having a big, extravagant formal event, or a relaxed beach wedding.

The dress on the left is our cotton Beach Bride Boho dress that has gigantic hand sewn rosettes gathered at the bottom. The dress on the left is our gorgeous white snow sequin Vamp Gown that is backless and has an elegant train; both dresses can only be found at Fashion Crimes.

Pick of the Day!

Today's pick: fantastic straw fedoras as modeled by store manager Kat McEwen! This must have hat is asymmetrical, so it dips a little lower on one side creating a casual yet classic look. Are you going to the cottage this weekend? Or maybe heading to Toronto Island to relax on the beach? This hat is the perfect accessory to add to your summer look and you can find it at Fashion Crimes!

Notice Kat's dress? It's a Wrapper dress in black velvet stripe fabric, found only at Fashion Crimes.

Pick of the Day!

The Fashion Crimes pick of the day pays tribute to our nation's birthday! Gold dipped maple leaf and bronze dipped oak leaf jewelry are a great way to celebrate Canada Day, while looking stylish and sophisticated. You better grab these before they're gone!!

This is an original collection crafted by our in-house jewelry designer Brienna Delorey (see picture on the right side).

NXNE Window

NXNE Week provided store manager Kat McEwen inspiration for our current window display. All the musical instruments were kindly contributed by our neighbours, Steve's Music Store. Photography by Peter Tucker

Thanks once again to Steve's Music; it could not have been possible without your support!

The Whistle Blower

Kaitlyn Regehr was given the role as the Whistle Blower for the Toronto Roller Derby Championships. She looked amazing (as per the norm) in Fashion Crimes attire: the new Jezebel Pom dress accessorized with a black veiled cocktail hat. Click HERE to view the video filmed by Brooks Hunter.

Pick of the Day!

Fashion Crimes is known for it's tremendous selection of unique, fabulous rings. We had difficulty picking only one, so the staff managed to narrow down the selection to 5! Here they are in no particular order:

1. A two finger Brooklyn Bridge ring!! It is gold plated, covered in crystals, and quite the conversation starter!

2. Mega-Stars Ring! This ring has beautifully cut crystals in the shape of stars. It comes in a gold set as well.

3. Giant Rocks Ring! This ring has a fabulous cluster of rocks with a few random gems and chains that make this fashion piece truly unique.

4. Rhinestone Skull ring! This ring stretches, so it will fit all sizes.

5. Gecko Ring! Enough said.

This is just a fraction of the selection we have to offer in rings (not to mention bracelets, necklaces, brooches....). Come on in to the boutique, and dig in!

Pick of the Day!

Today's pick is the lovely Demure Shift dress in Cubist fabric! This dress, along with the majority of the dresses in the store, is made at our studio on Richmond Street and designed by the owner, Pam Chorley. We love this dress because it hugs the body in all the right places; enhancing curves without any intrusiveness! It falls just above the knee, making it a nice choice for a wedding, prom, or even the lively Toronto nightlife. Like all of Pam's designs, this dress comes in many other fabrics and colors; although we are all a little ga ga for this unique fabric. You're just going to have to pop into Fashion Crimes and try this dress on!!

Pick of the Day!

Today's pick is modeled by stylist Kanchana!! She is wearing a fabulous fuscia Oscar dress; this corseted dress also comes in black, navy, plum, yellow, teal, turquoise, red, and white.

We absolutely adore this feathered hair piece; they come in many different varieties of colors, and in peacock feathers too. This amazing hot pink color goes perfectly with the Oscar dress. And do you see those fantastic drop crystal earrings? They are part of a wonderful collection of Canadian-made jewellry; those earrings come in a smokey tone, as well as a gold color!

Yes, that is a four-fingered ring clutch! This is definitely a staff favorite; it has the perfect combination of elegance and edge. Also, the bracelet pictured hails from the same line as the earrings mentioned previously; beautiful Austrian crystals formed into tiny flowers all made locally!

Where to find this dynamite ensemble? Fashion Crimes on Queen Street West! Come visit us; we would love to talk fashion with you.

We had such a great time at the YYZ Living Magazine Summer Issue Launch at the Ultra Supper Club; the pictures (and memories) keep flooding in! You can only find this original piece at Fashion Crimes, so come on in and claim one for yourself!Pam (left) in a silver cire Tied Up dress, and Cha Cha (right) is sporting a baroque brocade Waist Cincher and tiered netty Skirt from Fashion Crimes. Prom!

We had so much fun this prom season dressing up excited young women for their once in a lifetime event. We love it more when we receive feedback on the success of their night. Sanjana was kind enough to send us a picture of her in a silver Side Ruffle dress from Fashion Crimes. Doesn't she look fantastic? Nicely done, Sanjana!!

Pick of the Day!

As promised, our weekday pick!! We choose our new geode necklaces; they scream summer, they are on a great long silver chain, and come in different colors too. They would be the perfect accent to any outfit in your closet. So our question is, why don't you own one? Come on in to Fashion Crimes and snag one before they're gone!

Assistant manager Tiffany Chang makes the cut today! She is the proud owner of a Halter Tivoli dress in the Fishy cotton fabric; perfect for the summer. Fashion Crimes Gives Their 2 Cents on CBC

Last night I made a brief appearance on CBC's The National during a segment about last year's G20 riots. Fashion Crimes was fortunate enough to walk away from it all with very minimal physical damage to the store; however shutting down business on both Saturday and Sunday resulted in a huge opportunity cost and, even worse, lost wages for the staff who were sent home without work. It's an interesting report; I start at the 1:38 mark and speak for a few seconds. Click HERE to view the clip! Let us know what you think! Any opinions on the G20 chaos?I (Melissa) am standing by one of our many amazing jewelry cases. I am wearing a Holly Boat dress in incredible Cockadoodle fabric; it also comes in Deer and Fish fabric as well! My entire outfit is from Fashion Crimes; come visit us and try this great dress on!

Grand Opening of Guess Flaship Store on Queen Street West

Queen Street West was definitely the place to be this past Thursday. Another event took over the strip: the grand opening of the Guess flagship store. In partnership with Flare Magazine, Guess threw a great party in celebration of the opening with special musical guest Keshia Chante. Fashion Crimes employee Kanchana (aka Cha Cha) attended the soiree completely decked out in Pam Chorley's designs. She caught the attention of blogger Omar Leslie, who simply had to take the beauty's picture. The gorgeous Kanchana is pictured above wearing a Fashion Crimes waist cincher in baroque fabric paired with a cream tiered netty skirt. All her accessories can be found at Fashion Crimes as well, including that dynamite rhinestone bracelet. Do you love her outfit as much as I do? Then come visit us, we will hook you up!

YYZ Living Magazine Summer Issue Launch

Last Thursday, YYZ Living Magazine launched it's summer issue in style by holding a lavish event at Ultra Supper Club. The extravagant patio party had all the who's who of the fashion, media, and arts community in attendance, so naturally there was a Fashion Crimes presence. As our very own Pam Chorley walked into the party, she was immediately surrounded by flashing cameras and eager admirers. I was fortunate enough to attend; and thanks to Pam, I was captured in a photograph taken by Omar Leslie alongside the legendary designer. Here I (Melissa) am standing next to the one and only Pam Chorley wearing one of her newest designs: the Audrey Demure dress in ivory daisy lace. Pam looks amazing in a Tied Up dress in silver cire fabric. Our fabulous earrings and accessories are all from Fashion Crimes as well!

A Little Bit Country, A Little Bit Rock 'n' Roll, And A Whole Lot of Fabulous!

Jacelyn Holmes, Canadian Singer/Songwriter, received two nominations this year for Best Adult Contemporary Artist and Music Video of the Year at the 2011 Niagra Music Awards. Naturally, such a strong, inspiring woman would not need just any outfit for such a prestigious event, so Fashion Crimes stepped in to help. The end result? Jacelyn looked absolutely stunning (don't just take my word for it, take a peek at the fantastic photography of Lindsay Altoft and see for yourself) and she went home with the award for Best Adult Contemporary Artist! Yay, Jacelyn! Congratulations, the Fashion Crimes team are delighted!!

Jacelyn is pictured above wearing a black lace Drew dress, accessorized with a red feather fascinator. How can you not love this picture?

For Jacelyn's musical performance, she choose an adorable Bambi print chiffon Gretel dress, paired with an electric blue dupioni shrug from Fashion Crimes.
