Pam Chorley, reunites with Glen Hanson

Fashion Crimes recently teamed up with the imaginative Glen Hanson once again, to create the limited edition prints for a retrospective party hosted by The Drake Hotel. Pam and Glenn go way back, back to the beginning in fact. He stylized some of the original artwork for the store, and so it was just the perfect idea to bring him on board to help celebrate 27 years of Fashion and Fabulousness. Glen was a presence himself, wearing leather pants, and an open blazer, sporting chains and edgy hardware on his wrists. The amazing artists creativity went beyond pen and paper.

It was the perfect way to end Toronto Fashion Week. The crew from Fashion Crimes and many guests sipped on cocktails named after dresses at the store, while they got to peak at some of Pam's designs from past to present.

The excitement was up in room 222, where you could have your hair and make-up styled by two of the lovely ladies from Parlour Salon, who of course wore two of our favorite designs. After hair and make-up, our very special guests could then peruse an accessory bar to gear up with the latest and greatest from our selection. Once fully made up, and sparkling in rhinestones, we sent them of to face the camera, where Peter Tucker snapped happy, and captured some unforgettable moments!

Pictures of the Drake Event will be available to view shortly - a link will be posted on our Facebook group, as well as on our online scrapbook!

Cheers, to 27 years! And more to come!

Carolyn at TFI is ROCKIN!

This posting is SO overdue! Sincere apologies for the lateness...
A few months ago Pam and I had the opportunity to chat with FC friend, Carolyn Rohaly. Among many of the careers that this dynamic chica holds down all at once - Carolyn writes a Diary blog for TFI that is a vast informative "Fashion Business Advisor" in disguise.
For her double feature on FC, she interviewed Pam about the day-to-day life of being a Toronto Fashion designer. It's great, as Pam unfolds all kinds of tid-bits from a behind-the-scene perspective. My interview with Carolyn discusses some of the wonderful duties pertaining to being the General Manager of Fashion Crimes, with some special attention paid to the angle of buying. If you are interested in pursuing a career within the fashion industry, I would highly reccomend these reads among many many more that you will find in her archives.

In addition to living, eating & breathing fashion in all of it's forms, Carolyn is the assistant to film director David Cronenberg. Back in late March he was awarded with France's highest honour, the Legion d'honneur. Both Carolyn and his daughter Caitlin Cronenberg (who, by the way is an enchantress of photography) proudly supported Mr. Cronenberg at the event.
See them both looking gorgeous in their favourite dresses from Fashion Crimes:

Final Fashion Experiment

Recently the crazy talented and innovative Danielle Meder approached us with an idea that she wanted to test with us. The idea is a collaborative relationship between her ever-evolving [kick-ass] fashion blog and the Fashion Crimes blog that you are currently feasting your eyes upon.

Here are a few reasons why we jumped at the opportunity:

1.) Danielle has been a joy to work with in the past when she created the illustrations for the "Holiday Shopping Soiree" event and the festive sale promo postcard of 2008.

2.) Final Fashion has a wonderful following of authentic Toronto fashion professionals, (It's true... she has the stats to prove it). FC and this group share many commonalities pertaining to the sincere interest in promoting local fashionista's.

3.) Throughout her 26 years in buisness in the heart of the Toronto fashion district Pam has had a keen interest in supporting & joining forces with local passionate businesses owners like Danielle.

4.) THIS:The sponsorship badge that links to our website perfectly exudes the spring-time air that you will feel in the boutique.

Cheers to looking forward to the many exciting growth FC & FF will make together!

The Heart Truth @ LGFW

The Heart Truth Show at LGFW '09 thankfully did not include any tumbles or slips this year. It did, however, feature the best of local fashion designers, a packed house, and lots of smiles & laughter. Amy Sky sung herself down the runway, Tara Spencer-Nairn mooned the crown with frilly knickers, Marilyn Dennis was disco dancing, and
Cassie Campbell was all glammed up in Fashion Crimes.

See Cassie and Pam on the cover of the Metro today!
