Pick of the Day!

The Fashion Crimes' pick of the day consists of two stunning red carpet looks. On the left we have our fuchsia strapless, satin gown accessorized with a black bow belt, handmade crystal necklace, black fox fur stole, and topped off with a lace bunny ear headband! The dress on the right is one of Fashion Crimes' couture pieces; a Black Tie dress in bow baby bow fabric. This elaborate dress requires very little accessories, so for this look only a gold crystal cluster necklace was added. In this case, less is more! With Spring just around the corner (hurry, please!), we are already getting in lots of new stock. The early bird catches the worm, so come on over and get first dibs!!

Pick of the Day!

Not only is this fashion piece popular with our beloved prom girls, but they are quite coveted amongst our birthday girls too! These strapless dresses are covered in sequins and beads, have a corseted top for added security (plus it creates a beautiful silhouette), and has a built in crinoline for a 'fun' and sexy look (think Carrie Bradshaw).

Pictured above, we have added a brown fox fur stole (click HERE to learn more about how fur is green), 7 crystal and chain necklace (designed by the incredibly talented Brienna Delorey), and a feathered poppy headband to the red dress. We accessorized the pink piece with a black lace shrug (a brand new addition to the Fashion Crimes repertoire, which I personally purchased immediately!), gold mesh bib necklace, and pink fascinator. One of our amazing stylists, Emily, is modelling 2 new pieces to enter the Fashion Crimes realm. Beautiful gem drop earrings and a stunning tear gem cluster necklace instantly turns her 6 way convertible dress into red carpet material!

Here Emily is showing off one of our hottest new items, and just as we thought people are going crazy for them; the bendy polka dot head wrap. These satin polka dot hair accessories have a wire on the inside, so you can easily create this look in seconds, no tying necessary! They come in a variety of colour combinations, including black/white, pink/white, tan/brown (my personal favourite!), and green/navy. The hardest part will be choosing the colours you like best! Also note the gorgeous layered pearl and chain necklace she is wearing; one of the hundreds of elegant necklaces we have to offer.

Introducing the newest design to emerge from the Fashion Crimes studio on Richmond Street: the Drew Wiggle! You may already be familiar with our Drew dress, if not click HERE for a refresher. This is a similar style but with a pencil skirt to show off your curves as opposed to an a-line hem. It still has a beautiful off shoulder neckline with flattering sheer sleeve, and honestly I have yet to meet a woman who has tried on this dress and didn't fall in love. With the holidays rapidly approaching, surely this dress will come in handy; whether it be a work party, wedding, or New Years Eve. Whichever function you decide to wear it to, you will easily be a knock out!

Introducing the newest design to emerge from the Fashion Crimes studio, the Jezebel Dance dress! This gorgeous wonder has a full skirt that sits just above the knee; it also has a halter strap that can be tucked in and worn strapless. Both the skirt and bust are covered in silk rosettes creating a look fit for a princess.

Here we have accessorized this stunning piece with a stretch bow belt, black fox fur stole, and multiple layered necklace that is clipped together with a black fabric flower brooch (which, by the way, doubles as a hair barrette). As this is a brand new addition to the Fashion Crimes family, expect to see this amazing dress in a plethora of colours and fabrics!

Fashion Crimes finally has a 6 Way dress in ivory! Brides, this is the dress you will want to throw on once the ceremony is finished (or even for the nuptials itself, and then tie it in a different way for the reception); it's comfortable and flattering, so you can dance dance dance the night away! Of course, you don't have to be walking down the aisle to rock an ivory dress, take a look at how this piece can transform into many different looks.

1. Grecian Goddess - note the use of a feather hair extension, and 2 bendy snake necklaces (one is used to wrap around the shoulder of the dress).



2. Cocktail Party Girl - an easy solution to the "what to wear" dilemma by simply tying the dress into a cap sleeve version, and adding an elaborate fascinator and crystal necklace.


3. Business Casual - every girl should have a boyfriend blazer in her closet; here we added a pocket watch necklace as well, instantly transforming the look into office appropriate wear.

4. Boho Chic - this incredibly versatile dress in a strapless version paired with an ostrich and mohair scarf, a layered necklace, and silk rose head piece (which happens to hail from Montreal, go Canada!) creates a vision that is both elegant and bohemian.


5. Cruisin' - whether you are out sailing or strolling across a beach this ensemble is as breezy as the sea salt air. We have added a wide brim bendy hat and an amazing telescope necklace, giving the look a casual, summery feel.

6. Beautiful Bride - a lovely bird cage veil headpiece and 2 stunning Austrian crystal necklaces create a gorgeous look for any lucky bride. The extravagance of the accessories combined with the simplicity of the dress will make anyone "gasp" worthy.

We chose what we affectionately call the "Madonna" dress as the Fashion Crimes pick of the day! This beautiful black and cream combo is fitted at the top, has a layered tulle ballerina style skirt, and comes with a cute stretchy gem belt! The belt is detachable so you can switch it up and add a studded cincher to make the dress more rock n' roll, or whatever part of your personality you would like to play up; the options are endless. We have accessorized this piece with a black patent purse (complete with fox tail key chain), a stunning 3 strand gem and pearl necklace, and of course a black veiled fascinator. This isn't a creation we make at our studio so this dress is quickly disappearing from our racks; I would suggest trying it on and making this your Winter treat!

The Fashion Crimes pick of the day is dedicated to these funky owl bags! They are great to use as a purse or shopping bag, and they have a rustic look that screams Autumn. Pictured above is an owl purse paired with Pam Chorley's very own Demure Sleeve dress in snake posey fabric, once again proving that your choice of accessories determines just how formal a look can be!

The Pick of the Day!

As you may or may not know, Fashion Crimes always has a huge selection of head pieces for you to ponder over. Whether it be big or small, feather or rhinestones, we will have what you're looking for. Not since the Royal Wedding has their been so many fascinators in one room! For our pick of the day, we chose a sample of our woven ivory pieces. They are beautifully crafted, with each one out doing the other! You really need to come to Queen West, play a game of dress up, and truly feel the fascinator experience!

The white satin Jezebel Micro dress with fringe is our pick of the day! You have seen our fantastic fringe jewelery, but how amazing is that dress?! The sexy strands are super long, allowing you to trim it so it's the perfect length for your height. Here we accessorized the glorious creation with a Fashion Crimes fox tail scarf, a 7 crystal gem necklace (an original design by the lovely Brienna Delorey), and a woven fascinator. You only have a few weeks left to come up with the perfect Halloween costume, which is why we chose this rubber Cat Woman mask as our pick of the day! That is I, Melissa, (I never said I was photogenic) donning the mask, complete with extra long black satin gloves, and a jewel pyramid bracelet. I was surprised how comfortable the mask is; it is a full cap so it covers your entire head, it has a slit at the back so it will fit almost any size, and even though it is made of rubber it doesn't suffocate you! So this Halloween, why not channel your inner Eartha Kitt or Michelle Pfeiffer and drop into Fashion Crimes; I am sure we have the perfect sexy black dress that would go great with that mask!

The hand-made, peacock feather mini skirt is the Fashion Crimes pick of the day! This is currently a one of a kind, and great for a formal event, a night on the town, or that special piece you desire for your birthday outfit. This little number is also available in black and ivory ostrich feathers (click HERE for a refresher!), as well as spotted guinea feathers.

As if this skirt could not get sexier! We have chosen to showcase the fox fur Trooper hat for our pick of the day! Fashion Crimes stylist Jessica McShane is modelling the red fox version (also available in black and white), showing how it can be worn with the ear flaps down as well. These beautiful pieces (like all of our authentic furs) are 100% Canadian, which supports our national fur trade (for more information about the fur trade click HERE). These hats will certainly keep you warm as the cold of winter creeps upon us; and with a coyote fur version on the shelves your biggest worry will be picking the perfect one for you!

This just in: a stunning fox fur bolero with chiffon rosettes throughout! We just had to include this piece in the Fashion Crimes pick of the day; it is absolutely gorgeous, and we also have a plain fur cropped jacket in black and ivory that was recently added to our extensive collection. Here, we have paired the fur with a gold embroidered net Audrey Demure dress and for a touch of playfulness, a rocking horse necklace. This once again proves the accessories you choose to wear determine just how formal or casual a look is, and when doing so make sure it reflects your own individual style! As you know, Fashion Crimes has a line of corseted Waist Cinchers that come in an assortment of fabrics and are made at our studio on Richmond Street. These wonderful pieces have hook buttons in the front and laces up in the back, and with sizes ranging from small to extra large it will fit almost any body type. For our pick of the day, we decided to showcase our cincher in the unbelievably adorable teapot fabric! It is a cotton blend with gold satin piping, and will look fabulous layered on top of a fancy dress, or even over a tank top for a more casual look. Either way, this is an investment you surely will not regret. And the best part? The teacup cinchers are now $100 off!!

The Pick of the Day!

The theme of the Fashion Crimes pick of the day is animal rhinestone bracelets! These fantastic cuffs have a hinge so you can wear them at the wrist or on the upper arm, and they are encrusted in crystals providing a touch of class to such a vigorous piece of jewellery. The only question is, which animal will you go with?

The animal jewelry doesn't stop there! We also have raccoon, snake, fish, turtle, and humming bird rings (to name a few!), and even earrings in the shape of blow fish. I could list the many jeweled critters we have here at Fashion Crimes but this blog post will then quickly turn into a novel! Saying good-bye to Summer is going to be tough, but welcoming all the new Fall fabrics makes the transition a little easier. The Fashion Crimes Hepbourne dress in licorice crochet flowers is certainly lovely enough to make the pick of the day! This style is a staple from Pam Chorley's massive collection; it elegantly accentuates your curves, it provides coverage for the back and shoulders, and depending on the fabric you choose, it can be worn at a formal event or to the office. This particular material definitely suits a special event, and it is available in a cream colour combination as well.

As the crochet flowers are the main focal point, we decided to keep the accessories to a minimum. The crystal and pearl Heirloom necklace is really all the glitz you need, and we love how it is hand made and hails from Ontario. Also, adding a belt to a dress certainly transforms a look. Here we used a lace flower belt to provide a hip contrast to the otherwise regal ensemble, while defining your waist at the same time. Great dress, great fabric, great times!

One of Pam Chorley's amazing designs is the Nightly Gown, which has a criss cross back and drop waist. Here we choose the Pirelli devore fabric for the Fashion Crimes pick of the day! If you want a completely original, show stopping piece to wear to that swanky event coming up, you must consider this dress. Pictured below, you see that we used a gem encrusted, bib-style necklace to contrast against the black, while providing the standard bling needed to make you feel like a movie star!

The Fashion Crimes pick of the day is the always elegant Demure Sleeve dress in navy lyon lace! This piece has a beautifully detailed scalloped hem, sexy sheer sleeves, and sits just above the knee. Of course, we have this style in many other fabrics, and it is available in a sleeveless version. You won't know just how dynamite this dress is until you come in and try it on!

We certainly love layering necklaces; and the funkier the better. Starting from the top is a mini, glass cover pocket watch, followed by an Eiffel tower charm necklace, with a birdcage pendant finishing the ensemble. To create a less formal look, we have added a brown leather toggle belt, which just so happens to be on sale for 30% off and is 100% Canadian. We decided that these gorgeous crystal bead and sequin headbands deserved the spotlight; and keep in mind these are just a mere sample of what's new at our wonderful boutique.
