Rally For Kids With Cancer

Last weekend, members of the Fashion Crimes team had the privilege of joining the good hearted people participating in the Rally For Kids With Cancer gala.  The event was packed with celebrities and various companies who raised money for the cause.

Pictured above is Pam Chorley, founder and designer for Fashion Crimes, standing alongside Playboy cover model Priscilla Caripan.  Pam sported a Vamp Halter dress (a Fashion Crimes original) in peacock printed silk, accessorized with uber long chain earrings and a crystal fringe cuff.  Priscilla wore a Fashion Crimes Tied Up dress in bronze lace and looked fabulous while doing so.  Love these dresses?  Of course you do!  Keep in mind they are both available in a wide variety of fabrics and colours, and can only be found at Fashion Crimes on Queen Street West!

This picture is clearly not the best quality, but that is definitely our very own Cha Cha with Billy Baldwin! When he's not running around raising awareness for amazing charities, you can catch Mr. Baldwin on the hit TV shows Gossip Girl, and Parenthood.  Hopefully when the press pictures are released, you will all get a good look at what the rest of the Fashion Crimes gals were wearing at the event....stay tuned!!

Dare To Wear Love 3!!

Dare to Wear Love is an annual gala fashion event to raise funds and awareness in fighting the HIV AIDS pandemic in Sub Saharan Africa. 24 of Canada's top fashion designers were asked to create an outfit using 6 yards of African fabric. Naturally, Pam Chorley was one of them.

Pam's creation is this stunning two piece dress modeled by her beautiful daughter Jasmine (pictured above). She is also wearing an extravagant cherry necklace (made at our wonderful studio on Richmond St), paired with an over-sized silver rose ring (easily the largest ring in the store!). Click HERE to view highlights of the fashion show.

Here Pam is standing with Jasmine just beaming with motherly pride! But wait, do you see that dynamite dress Pam is wearing?? It's a brand new piece to enter the boutique; it hails from Brazil, and is made from 100% recycled materials. To really appreciate just how unique this dress is, you have to take a closer look...

BAM! Those are pop can tabs!! How amazing is that?! Each pop tab is hand sewn to create a look like no other, and it is available in a jacket as well. We love how Pam chose a neon yellow, octagon shaped clutch for that always welcoming punch of colour. This trend setting clutch comes in black, neon pink, and neon orange, and as you might assume they are going fast! You best hurry if you want to take one home with you!!

And This Is How It's Done

As you know, new designs are produced at our studio on a regular basis; one of them being the Demure Illusion. Fashion Crimes owner and designer, Pam Chorley, is pictured above modeling the dress in a black sequin and nude stretch combination at this years LG Fashion Week. This piece has a signature two tone fabric contrast, which emphasizes the hour glass seam creating a sleek and slimming look. We all love the newest addition to the FC collection, and look for it in amazing animal print varieties as well!

Celebrity Human Race Fundraiser 2011

Back in September, Musik nightclub held the celebrity draft for the Human Race fundraiser, where teams picked their favourite star to join them on a scavenger hunt across the city to raise money for the North York General Hospital Foundation. The night was filled with amazing food, music (including a performance by JRDN), and head turning fashion, so naturally Fashion Crimes was present.

From left; Canadian R&B/hip-hop artist Jordan Croucher (aka, JRDN), Cha Cha wearing a Demure Sleeve dress in tulip print silk, Pam Chorley in a cafe passemeterie Demure Sleeve dress, and Manny, JRDN's manager.

Kat is sitting with Pam in a jet sequin Demure Sleeve dress, a gold plated Brooklyn Bridge ring, and beautiful orange feather hair extensions. Of course, all the accessories you see on Pam is available at Fashion Crimes as well.

Here I am (Melissa) sandwiched between two of my favourite gals wearing one of my newest dresses from the Fashion Crimes collection; the Jezebel Wiggle in stripe suiting fabric. It was an incredible night, and so much money was raised for such a great cause!

Happy Halloween!

It's finally here! We thought the best way to celebrate is to put our Halloween merchandise on sale!! Remember, it's not too late to whip together a costume; take a look at some of the ideas our staff came up with.

Kat McEwen dressed as a doll last Friday; wearing a black crinoline, mini top hat, and amazing spotted feather eyelashes (also available in pink, orange, blue, and green). We have a simple feather false eyelash as well, and both styles are now only $5!!

Why not go as the classic bunny this year? This set come with a strapless velvet bodysuit, bunny ears, and is currently on sale for 50% off!

Introducing the Fashion Crimes version of the peacock. Jessica is wearing a peacock feather mini skirt layered over a peacock silk print Tied Up dress, and completed the outfit with a gigantic feather headpiece that we tucked in her waistband to create the perfect fan.

And what did our fearless leader dress as this past Halloween weekend? Founder and designer, Pam Chorley, donned the cat woman mask with a sexy black dress to create the feline villain. Looking good!!

Pick of the Day!

Fashion Crimes founder and designer Pam Chorley had the attention of eager photographers at the many fashion shows she attended during LG Fashion Week. Here she is seen wearing a grey crochet dress, which is one of our newest pieces available at our wonderful boutique. The dress is knee length, has a slip to wear underneath, and also comes in a black version. This is a great addition to your Fall wardrobe; now is the time to grab it before it's gone!

"Dressed to Kill" Cancer with Gene Simmons

The "Rally for Kids" fundraising initiative for the Sick Kids Foundation took place September 16th and 17th at Muzik nightclub in downtown Toronto hosted by KISS front man Gene Simmons and wife, Shannon Tweed. Various corporations and kind hearted people had the opportunity to draft their favourite celebrity driver based on how much money they were able to acquire for the cause. This event was absolutely one of my favourites during TIFF weekend because of it's exceptional interior designs, the beautiful exotic cars, and all the high-profile celebrities that came out to support the fundraiser.

Here is designer and owner of Fashion Crimes, Pam Chorley walking the red carpet in a Tied Up metallic brocade dress.

Amongst the fabulous chaos, I was able to get some quick shots of Pam with the following gorgeous men: celebrity chef, David Rocco (pictured above) and Dragon Den's star and business guru, Robert Herjavec (pictured below).

I am normally NOT the type to get star struck, but when you have been standing behind Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed for 30 minutes while they wait to go on stage , you turn into a "Creature of the Night" and begin ravenously finding an opportunity to take a photo with the two "Family Jewels." I must say, it was a successful attempt.

As the night begins to wind down and my adrenaline rush turns into fatigue, it is only fitting that before we leave this AMAZING event, the very last photo belongs to the Fashion Crimes team.

From left; Kat wearing the yellow Drew dress with black lace, Pam in the Metallic Brocade Tied Up dress, Tiffany in the black lace Holly Boatneck, and finally me, Cha Cha, in a Bullet Halter in a silk bird print fabric aptly name Tweety. I thought it was only fitting that I wore something that sounded like "Tweed."

Pick of the Day!

Today's pick is the lovely Demure Shift dress in Cubist fabric! This dress, along with the majority of the dresses in the store, is made at our studio on Richmond Street and designed by the owner, Pam Chorley. We love this dress because it hugs the body in all the right places; enhancing curves without any intrusiveness! It falls just above the knee, making it a nice choice for a wedding, prom, or even the lively Toronto nightlife. Like all of Pam's designs, this dress comes in many other fabrics and colors; although we are all a little ga ga for this unique fabric. You're just going to have to pop into Fashion Crimes and try this dress on!!

YYZ Living Magazine Summer Issue Launch

Last Thursday, YYZ Living Magazine launched it's summer issue in style by holding a lavish event at Ultra Supper Club. The extravagant patio party had all the who's who of the fashion, media, and arts community in attendance, so naturally there was a Fashion Crimes presence. As our very own Pam Chorley walked into the party, she was immediately surrounded by flashing cameras and eager admirers. I was fortunate enough to attend; and thanks to Pam, I was captured in a photograph taken by Omar Leslie alongside the legendary designer. Here I (Melissa) am standing next to the one and only Pam Chorley wearing one of her newest designs: the Audrey Demure dress in ivory daisy lace. Pam looks amazing in a Tied Up dress in silver cire fabric. Our fabulous earrings and accessories are all from Fashion Crimes as well!

Walk for Life and Death

The Walk the Truth charity show called upon local designers and celebrities to showcase original pieces created specifically for the event. The fashion show fundraiser and gala was dedicated to promoting HIV and AIDS awareness, with all proceeds raised from the show going directly into sustainable programming to help and support orphans overseas, as well as to educate children and youth about HIV and AIDS around the world. Our very own Pam Chorley was more than delighted to contribute to such a fantastic cause, by creating a beautiful Tivoli gown with feather trim, and amazing rooster print lining. The event was a huge success; what a great way to finish Ottawa Fashion Week!
