Happy Halloween!

It's finally here! We thought the best way to celebrate is to put our Halloween merchandise on sale!! Remember, it's not too late to whip together a costume; take a look at some of the ideas our staff came up with.

Kat McEwen dressed as a doll last Friday; wearing a black crinoline, mini top hat, and amazing spotted feather eyelashes (also available in pink, orange, blue, and green). We have a simple feather false eyelash as well, and both styles are now only $5!!

Why not go as the classic bunny this year? This set come with a strapless velvet bodysuit, bunny ears, and is currently on sale for 50% off!

Introducing the Fashion Crimes version of the peacock. Jessica is wearing a peacock feather mini skirt layered over a peacock silk print Tied Up dress, and completed the outfit with a gigantic feather headpiece that we tucked in her waistband to create the perfect fan.

And what did our fearless leader dress as this past Halloween weekend? Founder and designer, Pam Chorley, donned the cat woman mask with a sexy black dress to create the feline villain. Looking good!!

Countdown to Halloween!

Halloween weekend is upon us; have you decided on your costume? Black Swan is certainly a reoccurring theme amongst many of the people we have talked to over the past few weeks. Lucky for you, Fashion Crimes has everything you need to create this stunning look. One of our fantastic stylists, Jessica, was kind enough to model our version of the coveted costume. She is wearing a Jezebel Pom dress with a black feather stretch belt, an ostrich feather fascinator, and a Fashion Crimes original filigree mask. If you want to stand out in a crowd, this will certainly aid in your quest. Come pay us a visit, and we'll make sure you have a Happy Halloween!!

Remember, we have the majority of our Halloween merchandise on sale!! If you haven't decided what you are going to dress as, you will surely be inspired at Fashion Crimes!

Make Our Mascot A Star!

We here at Fashion Crimes know that our mascot Fridge is destined to be a star, but we need your to help to make it a reality. Simply click HERE and vote for her (up to once a day!) to be the next Fido star!

The little canine sweetheart is pictured next to a Fashion Crimes pink dupioni Jezebel Micro Mini dress, which we layered with a silk print Waist Cincher. Also that chair she is perched on is currently on sale!

Halloween Is Coming! Are You Ready??

So little time! Don't worry, Fashion Crimes has everything you need, and with the majority of our Halloween merchandise on SALE, you shouldn't have a problem finding a costume you love at a price you can afford.

Here we have Jessica dressed as Snooki from Jersey Shore. She used a v-neck dress from our sale rack (only $50!!), a geisha style wig (which can also be used for an Amy Winehouse look), rabbit fur boot covers, and the token chain loop sunglasses that absolutely screams Snooki.

These rad sunglasses have a chain that can be worn in the front, or in the back so you can hang them around your neck when you're not wearing them. People are going crazy for these! We have them in a gold version as well, and as you may expect, they are flying out of here!

Flapper Ladies & Gangsta Gals

Why not take a trip to the 1920's this Halloween? Last weekend, the Fashion Crimes team went all out; rocking our beautiful flapper dress (available in red, black, and white) paired with long pearl necklaces, headbands, and of course the signature single feather hair comb. Take a look at what Tiffany, Cha and Kat came up with.

Watch out for these shady ladies! The always awesome Emily and Jessica created a gangster costume by using one of the many styles of Fashion Crimes jackets paired with a pencil skirt, and either a fascinator or sideways fedora. Great job gals! And if you like what you see, we can easily put these and many other costume ideas together for you!

As of today, most of our Halloween merchandise (including devil, cat, angel, and bunny sets; capes, vampire fangs, sequin eye patches, etc) are reduced to 50% off! Hurry before it is all picked over!!

Pick of the Day!

Introducing the newest design to emerge from the Fashion Crimes studio, the Jezebel Dance dress! This gorgeous wonder has a full skirt that sits just above the knee; it also has a halter strap that can be tucked in and worn strapless. Both the skirt and bust are covered in silk rosettes creating a look fit for a princess.

Here we have accessorized this stunning piece with a stretch bow belt, black fox fur stole, and multiple layered necklace that is clipped together with a black fabric flower brooch (which, by the way, doubles as a hair barrette). As this is a brand new addition to the Fashion Crimes family, expect to see this amazing dress in a plethora of colours and fabrics!

Pick of the Day!

Fashion Crimes founder and designer Pam Chorley had the attention of eager photographers at the many fashion shows she attended during LG Fashion Week. Here she is seen wearing a grey crochet dress, which is one of our newest pieces available at our wonderful boutique. The dress is knee length, has a slip to wear underneath, and also comes in a black version. This is a great addition to your Fall wardrobe; now is the time to grab it before it's gone!

Halloween Window!!

Leave it to Fashion Crimes to have a unique storefront window for one of the best times of the year....Halloween! This year's theme is Villains vs Heroes, with one half of the window dedicated to the wicked, and the other half to those that protect us from the dark side.

Our fearless protectors are styled in bright, juicy colours, each with a silver masquerade mask, giving a superhero feel. I immediately thought 'Sailor Moon' when I first saw the mannequin in the pink strapless dress! Perhaps this is the superhero style of the future....

The mischievous women to the left are wearing a variation of the same mask in black, and are styled in combinations of black feathers, fringe, and fur. While these heinous creatures are slightly terrifying (there is one posing as Medusa), at least they look fabulous!!

Thanks to creative director Kat McEwen for creating such a stunning spectacle once again. To view more close ups of the Fashion Crimes storefront window click HERE. These masks, as well as a ton of other Halloween costumes and accessories, are all available at our boutique on 322 1/2 Queen Street West. Hurry! Time is creeping by, October 31st is approaching fast!

Pick of the Day!

Fashion Crimes finally has a 6 Way dress in ivory! Brides, this is the dress you will want to throw on once the ceremony is finished (or even for the nuptials itself, and then tie it in a different way for the reception); it's comfortable and flattering, so you can dance dance dance the night away! Of course, you don't have to be walking down the aisle to rock an ivory dress, take a look at how this piece can transform into many different looks.

1. Grecian Goddess - note the use of a feather hair extension, and 2 bendy snake necklaces (one is used to wrap around the shoulder of the dress).

2. Cocktail Party Girl - an easy solution to the "what to wear" dilemma by simply tying the dress into a cap sleeve version, and adding an elaborate fascinator and crystal necklace.

3. Business Casual - every girl should have a boyfriend blazer in her closet; here we added a pocket watch necklace as well, instantly transforming the look into office appropriate wear.

4. Boho Chic - this incredibly versatile dress in a strapless version paired with an ostrich and mohair scarf, a layered necklace, and silk rose head piece (which happens to hail from Montreal, go Canada!) creates a vision that is both elegant and bohemian.

5. Cruisin' - whether you are out sailing or strolling across a beach this ensemble is as breezy as the sea salt air. We have added a wide brim bendy hat and an amazing telescope necklace, giving the look a casual, summery feel.

6. Beautiful Bride - a lovely bird cage veil headpiece and 2 stunning Austrian crystal necklaces create a gorgeous look for any lucky bride. The extravagance of the accessories combined with the simplicity of the dress will make anyone "gasp" worthy.

Remember, this is just a sample of the different ways you can tie this dress. You can have hours of fun coming up with other styles on your own, and why not get your significant other to help out too! You can make it a team effort, you just need to get innovative!

Halloween Costume Contest at Fashion Crimes

Cha as Lady Gaga.

While our Fashion Crimes team tends to encourage home made costumes, we do have a selection of Lady Gaga costumes to make your life a little easier this Halloween season! Cha transforms herself into the icon with this asymmetrical black and silver sequin dress, which comes with a matching mask. To complete the look, she went with a glitter microphone (we also have headset microphones too, in case you wanted to go as 90's Britney Spears!) that sparkles as much as the dress. Awesome job, now sing us a song Cha!!

Lauren as Christina Aguilera.

The beautiful Lauren got creative when recreating pop star Christina Aguilera. She chose a Fashion Crimes Hepbourne dress in stretch python fabric, and a chain link cinch belt. To summon here inner Xtina, she added temporary pink streaks to her gorgeous blonde hair. And yes, all that hair is Lauren's very own. Jealous.

Emaan as Adele.

To replicate R&B sensation Adele, Emaan opted for a classic, sophisticated look. She is wearing a black satin Holly Boat Sleeve dress (which has pockets!), two gold cuffs, a skinny gold belt, and an auburn wig. This outfit looks good year round; Emaan looks fabulous!

Tiffany as Cher.

We all know Cher has sported many different styles over the years, but Tiffany decided 60's Cher is definitely more recognizable than the rest, and more appropriate (do we remember what she wore to the Oscars? Yikes!). To imitate the legend, Tiffany wore a Demure dress in beadshag fabric, accessorized with lots of feather hair extensions, and a long dark brown wig (which, as mentioned before, can be styled like real hair). One thing is for sure, Tiffany's got you, babe!

Emily as Katy Perry.

Last year it was blue hair. This year it's pink. While we do carry the perfect pink Katy Perry wig, Emily decided the au naturel look would do her costume justice. And it does! A Jezebel Micro Mini dress in adorable cherry print fabric paired with a simple black bob wig will have people wondering if you're the pop sensation in the flesh. Of course, how can you pose as a musician without a glittery microphone? Whatever your Halloween needs are, Fashion Crimes is prepared for you! Come on down to Queen West and get yourself inspired!

Degrassi Does Prom...Fashion Crimes Style

What would prom be without Fashion Crimes? The kids of Degrassi certainly do not want to think about that notion, considering all the gorgeous dresses came from our glorious boutique on Queen West. I was personally ecstatic when I learned our favourite high schoolers had opted for Fashion Crimes dresses, as I was a huge fan of the original Degrassi series (I love you Snake!). Let's take a look as to what the lovely ladies chose to wear to their prom.

Marisol is seen here glowing in a gold sequin Jezebel Tivoli dress, accessorized with a black flower stretch belt, a black crystal heirloom necklace, and black gem bracelet. Standing beside her is a beautiful ivory passemeterie strapless dress paired with a stunning bleach peacock feather hair piece.

Katie is a show stopper in this gold sequin and bead corseted dress. She is also wearing a layered necklace, a rhinestone bracelet, a chunky rhinestone cocktail ring, and satin clutch, which was all provided by Fashion Crimes.

Everything you see on these four beauties, both dresses and accessories, are courtesy of Fashion Crimes. From the left; a plum passemeterie dress with brown sash, a hot pink Rihanna dress, a yellow chiffon one shoulder rosette dress, and a Jezebel Micro Rose Power dress in jade dupioni silk. Wow, what gorgeous girls! Makes me wish I could do my prom over....

Holly is looking quite graceful in the Heartini dress in mauve 3D garden fabric. This style is a classic cut; it has an A-line skirt with a sweet heart neckline, and will flatter almost any body type. Beautiful!

Of course, you do not need to be shopping for prom to shop at Fashion Crimes; we have plenty of informal, everyday pieces as well! To the right, you see Fiona in our Tissot Jacket in snow tiger fabric, paired with jeans. Below, she is also rocking a gold chain, lucite bangle; a great way to liven up a casual look.

As per the usual, the ladies of Degrassi certainly know their fashion! Remember to tune into Much Music to spot more Fashion Crimes attire, and you can always pay us a visit to get your hands on these amazing looks!

As promised, the announcement of tomorrow's costume theme and Fashion Crimes contest! On Saturday, October 15th our beautiful stylists will be dressing up as different musicians, and it is up to you to figure out who they are trying to mimic. If you guess 4 out of 5 right, you can win a 5%, 10%, 15%, and even 25% discount off any regular priced item. Halloween is quickly approaching; drop on in to Fashion Crimes and have some fun while you shop for your perfect costume!

Villains VS Superheroes

How we all LOVE Halloween here at Fashion Crimes! Did you know we have tons of amazing costumes and accessories to make you look both ghoulish and fashionable on the spookiest of all nights? We have it all! In fact, each Saturday leading up to the 31st all of our stylists dress up according to a theme. Last Saturday's theme was villains and superheroes; take a peek at what the lovely ladies of Fashion Crimes came up with!

Jessica as Harley Quinn (aka: the Joker's girlfriend).

All you need is a little creativity to create such a stylish rendition of this terrifying character. Jessica is wearing a red lace Tiedup dress and black satin waist cincher with fishnet tights. To create a jester appeal, she chose to wear two black and red feather hair extensions behind each ear, with an elaborate fascinator to top off the look. This ensemble is so fabulous, you don't need an occasion like Halloween to rock this outfit!

Cha Cha as
Poison Ivy.

Another Gotham City inspired costume (where's the Batman spotlight when you need it?) with everything you see found at Fashion Crimes! Cha is wearing a Jezebel Tivoli dress in green scale fabric, with emerald satin gloves and a taffeta sash. She donned a long red wig, and used one of our new velvet leaf headbands creating a look that Uma Thurman herself would be jealous of. Great job Cha Cha!!

Emily as
Storm.

Our student intern turned stylist brought this X-Men hero to life by putting together a Knotty dress in purple lightning silk with silver satin gloves and a white wig. Fashion Crimes even carries a two finger lightning bolt ring that would be the perfect accessory for this costume! Now if only Emily could summon the power of climate and bring Summer back...

Tiffany as
Wonder Woman.

This completely proves that you do not need to spend money on a pre-packaged costume that you are only going to wear once. Tiffany combines a royal blue satin dress with a yellow sash, red tights (which are on sale for 50% off), red satin evening gloves, and a gold metallic cuff on each wrist. Also, she is wearing a 'salon quality' black wig, which can be combed and styled with ease (ie: a wig that will last). Great idea Tiff!

What will tomorrow bring us? Stay tuned, I will be announcing the theme and special contest soon!!
